Some of the old women can still be found wearing the traditional black garb and the local men sitting outside the local coffee shops playing back gammon. Paralimni still offers a number of unspoilt, all year round, traditional Cypriot tavernas, all well known for their delicious local cuisine, along with their wonderful cafes and shops, all centred around the main square in Paralimni town. You can still get a real taste of Cyprus, just go where the locals eat and socialise! This town also hosts many popular festivals.
